On September 7, 2017, the Peruvian government granted the concessionaire HIDROVIA AMAZONICA S.A (COHIDRO) a good offer and the concession contract was signed, defining the project as “Amazon Waterway, Saramiriza-Iquitos-Santa Rosa section; Huallaga river, Yurimaguas section – confluence with the Marañón river; Ucayali river, Pucallpa section – confluence with the Marañón river.
With a planned investment of US $ 95 million, the concession was awarded for 20 years to the concessionaire and contemplates the design, financing, construction, operation and maintenance of a navigation channel, whose width will be variable between 44 and 80 meters, in a 2687 kilometers of the navigable road in the regions of Loreto and Ucayali.
